The following “basic” process is usually implemented in organizations that are new to planning, or have limited time to accomplish the task. As time and resources are available the organization can expand the process with more in-depth phases and activities to broaden the experience and ensure a well-rounded direction for the enterprise.

Step 1 – Create your mission statement or mantra – 2-3 words that illustrate why your organization exists. 

Step 3 – Identify specific actions or strategies that must be implemented to achieve each goal.

Step 4 – Identify the specific action plan for each strategy with clear and measureable objectives.

Step 5 – Periodically review your progress against your plan and update accordingly.
